Chef Kaz Okochi is renowned for his innovative approach to Japanese. After honing his skills in Japan, Okochi moved to Washington, D.C. where he became the executive chef at Sushi-Ko. His expertise and creativity introduced a generation of D.C. diners to premium Japanese sakes. In 1999, he founded KAZ Sushi Bistro, which quickly earned accolades, including being named as one of the top new restaurants and receiving multiple RAMMY Award nominations. Over more than 20 years at his namesake restaurant, Kaz has shown incredible staying power where he remains one of the deans of D.C.’s culinary scene.
