Chef Eric Ziebold began his culinary career working in restaurants as a teenager and later attended the Culinary Institute of America. Ziebold trained with chef’s known for creativity and whimsy, including Wolfgang Puck’s Spago in Beverly Hills and The French Laundry in Napa Valley. He arrived in Washington D.C. to be the executive chef at CityZen and become a fixture of the local culinary scene.
While there he won a James Beard Award and in 2015, Ziebold opened his first independent restaurant, Kinship, followed by Métier in 2016. Both restaurants have been recognized with Michelin Stars, with Kinship receiving one star in the inaugural Michelin Guide for Washington, D.C. in 2016, and Métier receiving a star in 2017. Métier was named the #1 Very Best Restaurant in DC by Washingtonian magazine in 2018.
